The report about me in the Standard is a wicked and defamatory smear and I am wholly innocent of any wrongdoings whatsoever. That I should find myself in a position whereby I am forced to issue a denial to allegations that are so serious and yet so untrue, is scandalous and displays a complete lack of journalistic responsibility and integrity.
I have already lodged a complaint with the Press Complaints Authority and will be consulting lawyers with the view to issuing legal proceedings for defamation of character”.

Ex-BNP chiefs accused of £1m fraud on GLA and taxman

Senior British National Party members took part in a "long-term criminal enterprise" to defraud the Greater London Authority and HM Revenue and Customs, according to court papers.

Richard Barnbrook, the £53,000-a-year member of the London Assembly, was involved in a complex fraud where bankrupt firms were allowed to continue trading, defrauding the taxman and other creditors for £1million, it is claimed.
Mr Barnbrook, former deputy to far-Right leader Nick Griffin, allegedly received cash "kickbacks" on taxpayer-funded contracts for his office costs and personal assistants at City Hall.
His employees, who were temporary workers provided by a recruitment agency, were former BNP parliamentary candidate Anthony Avery and ex-BNP councillor Emma Colgate. All three have since left the extremist party.
The allegations emerged in a High Court claim by businessman Rene Greville, 65, from Norfolk. He bought Beau Trading LLP, a bankrupt company with alleged links to the BNP, in 2009.
In the court documents, Mr Greville claims to have discovered the firm was a sham and used as a vehicle to defraud the taxman, relying on "kickbacks" to members of the BNP.
Beau Trading supplied Mr Avery and Ms Colgate as temps to Mr Barnbrook, who was kicked out of the party in 2010 but remains an Assembly member.
In the court documents, Mr Greville claims to have uncovered "evidence which proves...Beau Trading LLP acted as a source of funding for at least three top members of the British National Party at the expense of the Greater London Authority". According to his witness statement, Mr Greville has invoices and bank statements that show Mr Barnbrook and Ms Colgate received commissions on Mr Avery's payments by the GLA, which was being double-billed by so-called "phoenix" companies that did not exist.
Mr Greville's statement said: "It is quite evident that it was also agreed between all parties that 'kickbacks' on the Greater London Authority contracts...would be paid to Mr Barnbrook and Ms Colgate."
Mr Greville is suing a finance company that brokered his purchase of Beau Trading, for £197,000. Summing up, he said he had uncovered a "long-term criminal enterprise by four companies which were all under the control of the same people, and all operated from the same addresses using the same telephone and fax numbers.
"With full knowledge and participation of...high-ranking members of the BNP, these 'phoenix' companies ...stole nearly £1million from the Revenue and hundreds of small creditors over an 18-month period while defrauding the GLA and making corrupt payments to their staff."
Mr Barnbrook said: "I find all the allegations ludicrous in the extreme. None of the accusations can be substantiated. This is an issue that has arisen between two parties in a claim and counter-claim within a legal dispute. None of this has anything to do with myself or Anthony Avery." Ms Colgate said the allegations were "ludicrous and can all be proven to be so. This is obviously a failed 'businessman's' attempt to recoup his investment."

British Freedom Party: Out of the Closet

The ‘British Freedom Party’ (BFP) has always been an odd outfit.
Since it was launched in the autumn of 2010, it has been plagued with scandals, infighting, splits, several accusations of financial theft, and farce.
The early leadership group of the BFP consisted of a group of disgraced ex-BNP con-artists, bankrupts, dole scroungers, homosexuals, paid informants, list-leakers and degenerates.
This leadership group consisted of founding members such as the notorious long-term unemployable and chronic self-aggrandising crank, Lee Barnes.
Mr Barnes, who has proclaimed himself to be a qualified legal expert for many years, has even seen through the Zionist ‘inclusive’ farce that the BFP has become.
These are his own words:
“Because I did not want to work with the EDL who I believe are run not by Tommy Robinson but by a cabal of Zionists like Alan Lake and Chris Knowles.”
Mr Barnes was joined by the serial business failure, benefits abuser and self confessed Special Branch informant, Simon Bennett.
Mr Bennett gained infamy within nationalism for pulling down the BNP’s website at the height of the 2010 general election campaign, at a time when millions of BNP leaflets were landing on doorsteps around the country.
It is widely rumoured that the site came down after a large cash payment from the agents of the anti-nationalist outfit ‘Searchlight’, who were eager to sabotage any repeat of the success gained in the 2009 European Election.
In addition to these two individuals, we can add Mr Peter Mullins (or ‘squadron leader’ as he likes to be known).
Mr Mullins also gained infamy when it was discovered that he was pocketing the earnings from the BNP’s veterans’ group, ABEX.
A business failure and bankrupt, old-soak Peter was also done for passing off dodgy wine as ‘home produce’ and his claims to be a former squadron leader have also been proved false, like so many of his other alcohol fuelled ramblings.
Added into this toxic mix, was the well-known and militant homosexual ‘nationalist’ Peter Stafford.
Mr Stafford enjoys flaunting his homosexuality in public and on the internet.
Photos of Mr Stafford snogging other men at nationalist meetings have been circulating around cyberspace for some time.
This ‘man’ is responsible for appointing new officials in the British Freedom Party (bear that in mind for later).
Shortly after this debauched gang of cranks formed their own ‘party’ (which in reality only existed on the internet), the whole enterprise fractured into two rival camps, each side accusing the other of theft, mis-use of their members’ funds and ‘extremism’! You couldn’t make this stuff up!
Even before this group had been subjected to the usual rigours of nationalist politics, they descended into acrimony and bitch-fighting.
Indeed this happened within 24 hours of launching...incredible!
The whole circus seemed to come to a well-deserved end, when a completely unknown pro-Zionist conservative by the name of Paul Weston popped up and assumed the reins of the fledgling group, establishing an integral tie-up with the EDL and the Jewish Task Force.(Pictured below)

Even after a seeming surge in numbers on their Facebook group, and the appointment of several new branches, and a ‘link up’ with the disintegrating multicultural EDL, the British Freedom Party remains a ‘virtual party’ with numbers in the dozens and many of them ‘free members’ (yes, they actually offer FREE membership!)
The BFP has no printed leaflets. It has had only one single meeting (attendance of five people) in their whole history. They have held no other events whatsoever. They have no other publications, like a magazine or newspaper. They have contested no elections. They have no offices. They have organised no activities, such as leafleting or petition stalls. We could go on all day!
They exist, in reality, only on their poorly-viewed website and in the over-inflated egos of a few publicity hungry failures!
Because of these facts, we must be careful not to attach too much importance to the BFP, but the reason for this article takes on a more sinister purpose.
The researchers at the British Resistance have uncovered what amounts to a major scandal within nationalism.
We have already introduced you to the British Freedom Party’s ‘National Nominating Officer’, the openly homosexual Peter Stafford (pictured below kissing a fellow homosexual).

Peter Stafford sits on the BFP’s ‘National Executive’ and is in charge of appointing new BFP officials around the country.

He recently wrote on the British Democracy Forum, on the 30th of June 2011, at 4.51pm:

Our online team have obtained an up-to-date list of the BFP’s branch organisers and have thoroughly researched their backgrounds.
It is not for us to make accusations or pass judgement but here are some of their pictures for YOU to look at and try to understand what may or may not be going on (I am sure you take the point when considering these people were ‘appointed’ by Peter Stafford) .
Many viewers of the British Freedom Party’s website will have been somewhat impressed with the numerous appointments of new branch organisers, but let’s take a closer look:

Michael Woods (top left) is also a member of the BFP’s ‘National Executive’ and is another open supporter (at least) of homosexuals.
This fearless cyber-warrior (lives with his mum) has been very active with Peter Stafford of late, and we shall leave you with the picture to the right, make your own mind up!
Recently, Mr Woods published an article entitled ‘Can Gays be Nationalists?’ in which he said:
“It is fair to say that some male nationalists still believe in the caricature of gay males as the simpering, mincing queens. This is a stereotype that should be blown to pieces by our experience of working with homosexual nationalists, who in reality, are nothing like Alan Carr. Who in reality, are just as committed as other nationalists, just as brave in the face of aggressive opposition and just as politically effective – if not more so – as their straight comrades.”
There is clearly something not entirely wholesome going on with this lot on top of the extreme pro-Zionist outbursts from some of their senior officials.
Then we have their weird and deceitful lies on what constitutes someone as British or what it means to be a British nationalist.
They have on their site a video by a well known scientology devotee, by the name of Anton Lorien (very weird in itself), called ‘We Are The Brits’.
Please watch it and you decide if this is what you consider to be appropriate material for a British Nationalist party to be spreading unless they were totally given over to a multi-cultural agenda.

In my personal opinion, I was very much in two minds as whether to release full details of the venue before hand, however, the rebellious side says it's time for re-direction points to become a thing of the past (our activists will know what I mean). A former soldier is facing his last Christmas with his children after being refused a life-prolonging cancer drug because he lives in the wrong town.
Mark Bannister’s long battle with cancer has culminated in a fight for the drug Avastin which his consultant said could give him vital time with his daughter Sophie, six, and son Thomas, five.
But NHS bosses have refused to fund the medicine, even though it is readily available to patients just 15 miles from where Mr Bannister lives in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

The 37-year-old was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2003.
He was told in August this year that his cancer had spread and that Avastin, which costs £21,000 for a ten-month course, was his last hope.
His doctor gave him just 12 months to live.
The former private, who completed tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia during nine years with the Army, said: 'I was hoping the drug would help me see another couple of Christmases.

'I love my family to bits and want to be able to spend as much time as I can with them. It wouldn’t be a cure, but it would be the best thing to prolong my life.
'This Christmas we are just going to try and make as many memories as we can as it will probably be my last one.'

Soldier: Mr Bannister completed tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia during nine years with the Army

His wife Karen added: 'It’s devastating that they haven’t said yes to this treatment, we just can’t understand it.
'It should just be that everyone is given the same access to treatment regardless of where they live.
'It just seems so unfair that if we lived in Scunthorpe, which is only 15 miles away, we would get it.'
Mr Bannister was first diagnosed with a benign tumour in 2003 when he was 29, which was removed through open brain surgery.
Doctors told the couple that the tumour would probably return and routine scans in 2006 found the tumour had come back - only this time it was malignant.
Mr Bannister underwent another operation to remove it, followed by six months of radiotherapy.

Then in January 2010, another tumour was discovered and further open brain surgery carried out, followed by nine months of chemotherapy.
Despite all the treatment, the tumour returned aggressively in January this year and it was discovered in August that further chemotherapy treatment had not worked.
It was at that point Mr Bannister said his consultant suggested Avastin, a tumour-starving therapy that works by preventing the blood vessels reaching the tumour.
But letters to the Cancer Drugs Fund as well as East Midlands Specialised Commissioning Group were knocked back.
The drug is not currently 'readily approved' as a treatment by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (Nice), which means funding for it sits with the Cancer Drugs Fund.
NHS Lincolnshire said decisions to fund treatments are based on clear clinical evidence, cost-effectiveness, the benefit to patient and consideration of national guidance.

Avastin works by preventing the blood vessels reaching the tumour. The drug is Mr Bannister's last hope

A spokesman from EMSCG said: 'We were sorry to hear about this patient’s individual circumstances. Unfortunately, we are unable to comment further on individual cases.
'Currently, Avastin is not readily approved by Nice guidance and therefore funding for treatment that falls outside of Nice sits with Cancer Drugs Fund.
'Decisions about whether to fund drugs from the Cancer Drugs Fund are made solely by cancer specialists.'
NHS East Midlands does not fund Avastin for brain cancer patients, but NHS Yorkshire and the Humber does.
This means it is available for patients just 15 miles away in Scunthorpe, and in Sheffield where Mark had all of his cancer treatment, but not in Gainsborough.
Mr Bannister said: 'I’m just so angry that people can play with your life by saying who can and can’t have treatment.

'They are playing God.'
With an uncertain future ahead of them, Mr and Mrs Bannister renewed their vows last month on their tenth wedding anniversary.

There may be other ways of beating cancer though, we all know that the big "Pharma" companies, along with the bankers and the military industrial complex are large parts of our problems. Ross Parker was born in Peterborough to Davinia and Tony Parker and was one of two children.^[11] He was a keen footballer, and had completed a GNVQ in business studies at Jack Hunt School, hoping to join the police force when he was 18.^[12] He was nicknamed "Half-Pint" due to his 5 feet 5 inch height and had twice broken his leg previously. Parker lived in the Westwood area of the city and worked part-time at a local public house the Solstice as a cellarman.^[13]^[14]^[15]^[13]^[12]

Parker was murdered shortly after 1:15 am on 21 September 2001 when walking home from work with his girlfriend Nicola Foot.^[15] The attack took place on a cycle path alongside Bourges Boulevard in Millfield, Peterborough, near to Russell Street.^[16]^[17] Racial tensions in the area were high, as the terrorist attacks in the U.S. had occurred ten days earlier, on 11 September.^[3]
It was a warm night and Parker and Foot were holding hands as they walked to visit a friend of Foot's.^[15] They were confronted by a gang of up to ten Muslim Asian youths, some wearing balaclavas.^[2]^[18] Members of the gang had planned "to find a white male to attack simply because he was white".^[19] They warned Parker he had "better start running", but then blocked his path and quickly sprayed him in the face with CS gas.^[20] He was punched in the stomach and stabbed from behind three times through the throat and chest with a foot-long hunting knife.^[21] The knife penetrated right through his body on two occasions and as he was lying on the ground he was repeatedly kicked and struck with a panel beater's hammer.^[22] Foot ran to a nearby petrol station to find help and a man there gave her his mobile phone so she could call the police. Whilst making the call, she twice heard Parker cry out in pain. By chance she then spotted a passing police car; she entered the vehicle and took the officer to the scene of the assault.^[15] Although Foot had only been away for a few minutes, by the time she returned Parker had already bled to death and the gang had disappeared.^[18]^[23]
After the murder, the four accused returned to a garage behind Nazir's parents' house which they used as their headquarters. Awan, brandishing the bloodied knife, exclaimed "cherish the blood".^[3]^[6]^[18] Parker's body remained at the scene during the day while an investigation was conducted.^[18] A post mortem revealed Parker had died as a result of stab wounds inflicted by a bladed instrument.^[24]

[edit] Arrests and charges

During the weekend following the murder, twelve Asian people were arrested on suspicion of murder, with a £1,000 reward put up by the local community to find the killers.^[14]^[26] This was later increased to £1,500.^[27] A number of those arrested were recorded chanting "Taliban, Osama bin Laden" whilst being transported in the police van, also vandalising the vehicle.^[28] Such chanting continued in the police cells.^[1] Detective Chief Inspector Dick Harrison, who was overseeing the case, praised the Muslim community for their involvement in capturing the murderers.^[2]
On 26 September 2001 Ali, Awan, and Nazir appeared in court charged with Parker's murder^[17] and Zairaff Mahrad was charged the following day.^[29]^[23] However, by March 2002 all four defendants charged with Parker's murder had been controversially released from prison on police bail. Parker's sister, Leanne, stated "we can't begin to comprehend why they've been allowed out of prison at this stage". Parker's family were so concerned about such a decision that they wrote a letter of complaint to the Home Secretary, David Blunkett. The Home Office refused to comment on the case and the men remained free on bail.^[30]^[31]

In November 2002 Ahmed Ali Awan, Shaied Nazir, Sarfraz Ali and Zairaff Mahrad all of Millfield, Peterborough, stood trial for Parker's murder at Northampton Crown Court, pleading not guilty.^[32]^[31]
Awan, 22, of Gladstone Street, ran a recruitment company and had previously attended the city's Deacon's School. He was an unofficial police informer and the court was told he thought of himself as a gangster and had a "fantasy for knives".^[33]^[34]^[35] Nazir, 22, of Cromwell Road, was close friends with Awan; he was married in Kashmir the month prior to the murder and had a son. He was educated at Bretton Woods School, had worked in a factory and later in a takeaway with Mahrad, whom he had known since childhood.^[36] Ali, 25, of Harris Street had also attended Bretton Woods School^[37] He was given a reference at the trial by the Deputy Mayor of Peterborough, Raja Akhtar.^[3] and Labour Party councillor Mohammed Choudhary, with Aktar stating he had "known him to be caring and responsible".^[38] Mahrad, 21, owned a takeaway in King's Lynn.^[37]
At the trial, transcripts of covert police recordings of the suspects discussing the attack were adduced. The conversations took place in police vehicles when the suspects were arrested and were translated from Punjabi. Nazir was heard describing Parker's death as a "bloodbath", and how the third blow from the knife had split the whole of his neck open. Awan and Nazir were both heard discussing the statements they had given to police and the plan they had "made up".^[39] The court was also told of an exchange between Awan and an inmate at Bedford Prison, in which Awan described the killing of Parker in lurid detail.^[35] Contents of a letter written by Mahrad were also presented in which he stated he would "pray to Allah for forgiveness".^[40]
The jury heard how the murder weapons had been found in a shed at Nazir's house along with two bags of bloodied clothes. DNA and fingerprints belonging to Nazir was found on the hunting knife and Parker's blood was found on the hammer. His blood was also found on the clothes of two of the accused, along with Nazir and Mahrad's DNA^[41]^[28] and a pathologist told how marks on Parker's body matched the hammer found in Nazir's shed.^[42] Three balaclavas were also recovered from the property, again containing traces of Parker's blood,^[43] Nazir's younger brother Wyed told the court he had seen his brother cleaning the murder weapon on the night of the killing and witnessed all four defendants with blood on their clothing.^[41]^[44] Further witnesses reported Nazir admitting to beating someone up, Mahrad admitting to kicking Parker and Awan recalling stabbing him. A witness also saw all four defendants kicking Parker^[45]
In court Nazir admitted to seeing the victim laying on the ground, attempting to spray him with CS gas and kicking him. He also admitted washing the murder weapon and stated that Sarfraz Ali had hit Ross with the hammer and Awan used the knife.^[46] Mahrad had also admitted to being present at the murder scene, and claimed that the blood stains found on his trousers occurred as a result of him accidentally falling across Parker. Awan and Ali both denied being at the scene, the later claiming to have been asleep at the time of the murder.^[20]^[47]
On 19 December 2002 Nazir, Awan and Ali were all found guilty of murder in unanimous verdicts.^[5]^[32] The judge summarised the murder during sentencing:

“	You put your heads together with the purpose of arming yourselves and of attacking an innocent man you might find by chance simply because he was of a different race to yourselves. A racist killing must be one of the gravest kinds of killing.	”

The judge concluded that Awan had wielded the knife, was the ringleader of the group and had intended to kill.^[18] The three received life sentences, with Awan to serve a minimum of 18 years and the others at least 16. Mahrad was cleared of murder and manslaughter.^[5]

After the trial it was revealed that Nazir had previously been cautioned for using threatening behaviour in 1999 and fined for resisting arrest.^[35]
Awan and Nazir appealed against their jail terms in January 2008 but the original sentences were upheld, with judge Justice Davies stating he had taken into account "moving" statements from Parker's family. After the appeal Parker's father suggested that the killers of his son should never be freed.^[22] The two politicians who had provided Ali's references were later jailed themselves for forgery in relation to vote rigging.^[48]^[49]

The media was criticised for their lack of coverage of the Ross Parker case in comparison to similar racist murders occurring in the UK, such as the case of Anthony Walker and that of Stephen Lawrence.^[8]^[50] The BBC later admitted that "it was a mistake not to report the case of Ross Parker more extensively", noting the "stark" parallels with the Walker case though also suggesting the story had been "squeezed out" by other news such as a conviction of the killer of Danielle Jones. However it was noted that in hindsight that the crime was "worthy of coverage" "by any standards".^[50] Yasmin Alibhai-Brown^[51] and Kelvin McKenzie expressed similar sentiments, with the latter criticising newspapers including his own employer, The Sun. He stated, "if you believe you're a victim of an ethnic minority and you're white there is nowhere to go. Editors are so liberal that they are scared to be seen that they're moving to the right of their paper". Parker's mother Davinia Parker expressed similar concerns that white victims of race crime are ignored stating "because we are white, English, we didn't get the coverage"^[52]^[53] In 2006 a Times article by Brendan Montague on racist murders in Britain stated searching newspaper archives shows "an almost total boycott of stories involving the white victims of attacks" whereas "cases involving black and minority ethnic victims are widely reported".^[9]

Others have noted that the lack of coverage is not simply a media issue. Peter Fahy, the spokesman on race issues for the Association of Chief Police Officers states “a lot of police officers and other professionals feel almost the best thing to do is to try and avoid [discussing such attacks] for fear of being criticised. This is not healthy.”. Montague suggests the lack of police appeals in cases involving white victims may be a cause of the lack of media coverage.^[54]

The organisation who did cover the case also faced some criticism. The Government office for the East of England produced a controversial secret report by Dr Roger Green examining race relations in Peterborough. The document suggested that the Peterborough Evening Telegraph had a history of insensitivity and coverage of the case was "possibly adding to any climate of racial and communal unrest". However such concerns were completely rejected by both the police and local community representatives who praised the newspaper's approach.^[55]

Parker's murder lead to increased racial tensions in Peterborough. There were problems at Parker's school where three Asian pupils were suspended for an attack on a pupil.^[56] A number of taxi firms stopped work early in the days after the attack in fear of reprisals.^[57] In November 2001 Home Secretary David Blunkett banned all marches in Peterborough for three months as it was feared violence would be caused by the Anti-Nazi League and National Front who both sought to hold protests on the same day.^[58]
Parker's death also had a major impact on his family. His mother, Davinia, was unable to work for three months after Parker's funeral and came close to attempting suicide on a number of occasions. Parker's room was left untouched even a year after the incident, with his parents unable to bring themselves to tidy it, describing it as a place they "feel close to Ross".^[13]^[16]

As a result of the murder of Parker, local authorities set up a unity scheme, whereby gang members from different communities were trained as youth workers in order to ease racial tensions and reduce violence.^[59] However, some problems still persisted, with racist graffiti painted near the murder scene two years after the incident reading "no go area for whites", "Paki powa" and "death to whites".^[60]
Some, such as Mark Easton cite the Parker case as demonstrating how society has been forced to redefine racism and discard the erroneous definition of "prejudice plus power" – a definition which had only allowed ethnic minorities to be victims.^[10] Others such as Alibhai-Brown condemned the double standards of racial equality campaigners in relation to the case, suggesting black activists should "march and remember victims like Ross Parker", stating "our values are worthless unless all victims of these senseless deaths matter equally". She went on to write that "to treat some victims as more worthy of condemnation than others is unforgivable and a betrayal of anti-racism itself".^[51]^[61]

Peterborough Crematorium, location of Parker's funeral and memorial

Parker's funeral took place at Peterborough Crematorium in Marholm on 23 October 2001 with over 400 mourners attending. His Netherton United football shirt was draped over his coffin and he was described as "a beacon of light who inspired so many people" and "an extremely popular young man".^[23]^[62] The murder received little attention from politicians although in 2003 Peterborough Member of Parliament Helen Clark made a statement in Parliament sending condolences of Parker's family, paying tribute to Peterborough community and in particular Ross' school with her words echoed by John Denham.^[63]
A plaque was installed in Netherton in Peterborough as a memorial to Parker, and a further memorial is located at Peterborough Crematorium.^[2] His former football team mates also play a match every May in his memory and formed a team called "Ross' Rangers".^[29]

[edit] Kidnapping and murder

On 15 March 2004, Donald was abducted from Kenmure Street by five men associated with a local Pakistani gang led by Imran Shahid. The kidnapping was ostensibly revenge for an attack on Shahid at a nightclub in Glasgow city centre the night before by a local white gang, and Donald was chosen as an example of a "white boy from the McCulloch Street area" despite having no involvement in the nightclub attack or in any gang activity.^[11] Donald was taken on a 200-mile journey to Dundee and back while his kidnappers made phone calls looking for a house to take him to. Having no success at this, they returned to Glasgow and took him to the Clyde Walkway, near Celtic Football Club's training ground.^[12]
There, they held his arms and stabbed him 13 times. He sustained internal injuries to three arteries, one of his lungs, his liver and a kidney. He was doused in petrol and set on fire as he bled to death.^[13]
The five men convicted of the abduction and murder were convicted of racially aggravated offences. After the murder, some of Donald's attackers fled the United Kingdom to Pakistan.
The issue of the killing quickly became politicised because of the racial element. After the murder there were reportedly ‘racial tensions’ in the area sufficient to lead to police intervention.^[14]

Initially, two men were arrested in connection with the crime. One man, Daanish Zahid, was found guilty of Kriss Donald's murder on 18 November 2004 and is the first person to be convicted of racially motivated murder in Scotland.^[15] Another man, Zahid Mohammed, admitted involvement in the abduction of Donald and lying to police during their investigation and was jailed for five years. He was released after serving half of his sentence and returned to court to give evidence against three subsequent defendants.

[edit] Extradition and later trial

Three suspects were arrested in Pakistan in July 2005 and extradited to the UK in October 2005, following the intervention of Mohammed Sarwar, the MP for Glasgow Central.
The Pakistani police had to engage in a ‘long struggle’ to capture two of the escapees. There is no extradition treaty between Pakistan and Britain, however, the Pakistani authorities agreed to extradite the suspects.^[18] There were numerous diplomatic complications around the case, including apparent divergences between government activities and those of ambassadorial officials; government figures were at times alleged to be reluctant to pursue the case for diplomatic reasons.^[14]
The three extradited suspects, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid, and Mohammed Faisal Mushtaq, all in their late twenties, were charged with murder in October 2005. Their trial opened on 2 October 2006 in Scotland.^[19]
On 8 November 2006, the three men were found guilty of the racially motivated murder of Kriss Donald. All three had denied the charge; however, a jury at the High Court in Edinburgh convicted them of abduction and murder.^[20] The judge at the trail, Lord Uist, made a statement summing up the case:

“	You have all been convicted by the jury of the racially aggravated abduction and murder of Kriss Donald, a wholly innocent 15 year old boy of slight build. He was selected as your victim only because he was white and walking in a certain part of the Pollokshields area of Glasgow when you sought out a victim. This murder consisted of the premeditated, cold-blooded execution of your victim by stabbing him 13 times and setting him alight with petrol while he was still in life. It truly was an abomination. The savage and barbaric nature of this notorious crime has rightly shocked and appalled the public. You victim must have been in a state of extreme terror while held by you during a four hour car journey across Central Scotland and back, and the agony which he must have suffered during the period between being stabbed and set alight and his death is just beyond imagining.	”

Each of the killers received sentences of life imprisonment, with Imran Shahid given a 25-year minimum term, Zeeshan Shahid a 23-year minimum and Mushtaq receiving a recommended minimum of 22 years.

[edit] Lack of media coverage

The BBC has been criticised by some viewers because the case featured on national news only three times and the first trial was later largely confined to regional Scottish bulletins including the verdict itself. Although admitting that the BBC had "got it wrong", the organisation's Head of Newsgathering, Fran Unsworth, largely rejected the suggestion that Donald's race played a part in the lack of reportage, instead claiming it was mostly a product of "Scottish blindness". In preference to reporting the verdict the organisation found the time to report the opening of a new arts centre in Gateshead it its running order.^[21] The BBC again faced criticisms for its failure to cover the second trial in its main bulletins, waiting until day 18 to mention the issue and Peter Horrocks of the BBC apologised for the organisation's failings.^[22] However, Peter Fahy, spokesman of race issues for the Association of Chief Police Officers noted that the media as a whole tended to under-report the racist murders of white people, stating "it was a fact that it was harder to get the media interested where murder victims were young white men".^[23]

The British National Party were accused by Scotland's First Minister and Labour Party MSP Jack McConnell among others of seeking to exploit the case for political advantage, and an open letter signed by some prominent individuals, including MSPs, trades unionists, and community leaders condemned the BNP's plans to stage a visit to Pollokshields. The group did hold a rally in the area, leading to accusations that it was fuelling racial tension and exploiting a death for political capital.^[24]

An article in The Scotsman newspaper alleged a lack of response by authorities to concerns of rising racial tensions and that Strathclyde Police had felt pressured to abandon Operation Gather, an investigation into Asian gangs in the area, for fear of offending ethnic minorities.^[25] On 8 November 2006 Bashir Maan, a prominent Pakistani Glaswegian, also claimed on BBC television that police were well aware of the activities of Asian gangs in Glasgow but were reluctant to take action for fear of being accused of racism.^{[citation needed]} In a January 2005 interview with a Scottish newspaper, he had previously claimed that “fear and intimidation” had allowed problems with Asian gangs in some parts of the city to go unchecked. The article also quoted a former senior Strathclyde police officer who criticised “a culture of political correctness” which had allowed gang crime to “grow unfettered”.^[26]

A BBC report suggests that another reason for inaction was lack of evidence, as locals were more prepared to make complaints than to give evidence in court. ^[18] Some commentators have argued the murder was somewhat mischaracterised in the media, as well as expressing a doubt that significant ethnic tensions exist in Pollokshields.^[27]

[edit] Early release of prisoners

The case drew attention to the issues of prisoners automatically being released from prison early when it emerged that one of the murderers, Shahid, was on early release from a prison sentence at the time of the killing. He had previously been jailed for two and half years for a road rage attack but only served nine months of his sentence.^[28]

Glasgow band Glasvegas wrote the song "Flowers And Football Tops" about Donald's murder from the point of view of his father. The band dedicated their 2008 Philip Hall Radar NME award win to Donald.^[29] A memorial plaque was installed on a bench by the River Clyde in memory of Donald.^[30]

She drew comparisons with high profile ethnic minority vicitms, asking whether Donald's murderers were "less evil than those who killed Stephen Lawrence?". Alibhai Brown came to the conclusion that treating "some victims as more worthy of condemnation than others is unforgivable – and a betrayal of anti-racism itself".^[32]

The biggest sales rush in British history was marked by bloodshed yesterday as a teenager was murdered in asuspected row over a pair of trainers.

Bargain hunters looked on in horror as the 18-year-old was stabbed in a branch of Foot Locker on Oxford Street in central London.

Witnesses said the teenager was amongst a group of black youths, thought to be rival gangs, fighting over the trainers.

The teen, named as Seydou Diarrassouba, managed to stagger outside bleeding heavily before collapsing on the street.

Videos posted on the internet showed that as paramedics treated him other youths pushed and shoved police in scenes reminiscent of the summer riots.
Hours after the murder, police rushedto a second incident near Oxford Circus Tube station – 700 yards from Foot Locker – where a young man had been stabbed in the leg. At the scene were a bloodied pair of jeans and a pair of Nike trainers.

Police were investigating whether there was any link between the two stabbed.

Eleven people have so far been arrested in connection with the Foot Locker incident.
Scotland Yard said there were five 19-year-olds, three 17-year-olds, two 22-year-olds and one 16-year-old among the 11 people arrested in connection with the Foot Locker murder.

The stabbed youth pushed his way through the crowd of shoppers, many of whom did not realise what had happened, before collapsing on the pavement outside.
The victim is also thought to be known by the street name ‘Nutz’.

Paramedics raced to the scene as dozens of police officers, including armed officers and dog handlers, also arrived.

Many had to abandon their vehicles and run to the store as the crowds of shoppers were so dense that they could not get through.
A three-inch silver lock knife, whichcould have been the murder weapon, was discovered abandoned nearby. Other knives were also found.

Police quickly sealed the shop, trapping hundreds inside, before questioning everyone and searching themfor weapons and traces of blood.
Photographer Jules Mattsson watched paramedics as they desperately tried to save the young man’s life.
He said: ‘The police were pushing the crowds back. It looked like they weretrying to resuscitate him.

‘At that point, I was moved back around the corner with the crowds and they had put a sheet over the bodyof the dead guy. A line of police officers stood guard in front of the body.
‘It was a massive crush – most peoplejust wanted to know what was going on. It took a long time for the police to clear everyone.’

It is understood that the murder was captured by several CCTV cameras. Eleven young men were arrested in and around the store within minutes.

One witness said the killing might belinked to an attack in which a 22-year-old man was shot twice in the chest five days ago. That victim continues to fight for his life in hospital after the attack on the Mozart Estate, in Queen’s Park, North West London.

British schools should no longer teach children about the Nazis because it makes them think less favourably of modern Germany, the architect of the National Curriculum has claimed.

Lord Baker of Dorking, who spent three years as Margaret Thatcher’s education secretary, said that he would ban the topic and concentrate on British history instead.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, he said that schools should concentrate on teaching “the story in our own country” rather than the events of the Second World War, including the Holocaust.

Lord Baker, who introduced the National Curriculum in the 1980s, said: “I would ban the study of Nazism from the history curriculum totally.

“It’s one of the most popular courses because it’s easily taught and I don’t really think that it does anything to learn more about Hitler and Nazism and the Holocaust.

“It doesn’t really make us favourably disposed to Germany for a start, present-day Germany.”

Lord Baker now runs a series of university technical colleges which teach courses on the lives of great British engineers, scientists and inventors, a model he would like to see applied more widely.

"Why I’ve got a thing against the Holocaust and all of that is I think you study your own history first,” he said.

“I’m sure that German children are not studying the British Civil War, right?

“I think children should leave a British school with some idea of the timeline in their minds – how it came from Roman Britain to Elizabeth II.”

He stressed that he would not entirely exclude European history, saying that in order to study the Tudors and Stuarts, students would have to learn about Luther.

“I would focus much more on British history basically. But that takes you over the seas – we’ve been a great international country. It takes you into the empire. We’ve been a seafaring nation – you get to know other countries.”

Holocaust charities dismissed his suggestion.

James Smith, Chairman of the Holocaust Centre, said: “The study of the Holocaust leaves children ill-disposed to present day Germany only if it is badly taught. The period of the Nazis was not just a blip in German history; the Holocaust was a Europe-wide crime.

“The Holocaust is why the nations of the world, not only Germany, ratified the United Nations Convention to Prevent and Punish the Crime of Genocide and why the United Nations looked forward to the day the International Criminal Court would be established.

“Forgetting how much of our legislation that protects fair and equal societies is rooted in the knowledge of how far humans can sink would be a backward step for civil society and democratic values.”

His remarks come as ministers prepare to overhaul the curriculum.

The Coalition has tasked an expert panel with reviewing the structure of existing lessons in England and is expected to issue a report next year.

It could recommend making history compulsory up to the age of 16 – instead of the current cut-off of 14.

Lord Baker said that his biggest regret as education secretary was not extending the school day by at least one period.

He said it was “outrageous” that most schools finish for the afternoon at 2.30 or 3pm, causing “huge, huge problems with childcare”.

He would prefer schools to teach until at least 4 or 5pm, extending their lunch hour to include an hour of sport, drama, debating or even puppetry.

By extending the teaching day until 5pm and adding two extra weeks a year in his university technical colleges, the institutions have gained the equivalent of an extra teaching year for every pupil over five years.

But he was forced to retreat on his ambitions as education secretary because of opposition from teaching unions, he said.

“There was a two-year teachers’ strike and by settling it, we made an agreement with the teachers that they can only spend – I think the figure is still the same – 1,215 hours a year.

“If I was going to ask them to do another 40 minutes, I’d have had to reopen the negotiations – I just couldn’t take it on.”

He added that union resistance would still block the idea today.

Andrew Brons to form ‘new’ political party?

So suggests a discussion on the British Democracy Forum posted yesterday; or, more accurately, it claims that he is to effectively ‘takeover’ a small existing one: the Democratic Nationalists. Could there be an element of truth in this? Before turning to this specific question, it is worth setting the scene with respect to the state of Andrew Brons’s current political home: the BNP.

The Rise and Demise of the BNP
A few years ago, the BNP looked as if it might hold out the promise of breaking into the mainstream of British politics and becoming a credible moderate nationalist party. Its membership peaked at circa 14,000, but has been on a downward trajectory ever since; now, the party is estimated as possessing between 2,000-3,000 members. Despite the protestations of its leader – Nick Griffin – and his apologists, the subsequent collapse in the BNP’s fortunes has not primarily been due to concerted media and political opposition, but to problems within the party itself. These include a lack of internal party democracy; bad strategic decisions; the adoption of some frankly outlandish policies, and the presence of some equally outlandish individuals with an inexplicable fetish for German National Socialism. This latter fact has of course given opponents of the BNP a very large stick with which to beat the party and its members again and again. Nick Griffin’s own failure to distance the BNP from Holocaust denial and his attempt to defend David Duke of the Ku Klux Klan on the BBC’s Question Time were both gratuitously unnecessary and disastrous for the party.

The failure of mainstream political parties in the UK to do anything other than vigorously advocate and facilitate globalisation, mass immigration and multiculturalism over the past couple of decades, meant that many people who joined and voted for the BNP did so not because they were ‘Nazis’ or ‘fascists’ as the party’s detractors liked to claim, but because they saw in it a potential vehicle for the articulation of their concerns. Unfortunately, this vehicle proved not to be roadworthy owing to its reckless owner and driver – Nick Griffin – a man whom time has revealed to be interested not in the salvation of his country, but in the salvation of his bank balance. He grew the party to a size at which he could make a decent living from its membership, and having done so, appeared to be content to tithe the party faithful and to purge the party of its more talented high profile members whilst promoting incompetents to senior positions. This, in essence, is why the BNP has been a manifest failure in terms of practical politics.

A Leadership Challenge and a ‘parallel party Structure’
Despite the aforementioned, some people of talent have remained within the BNP, and Andrew Brons, elected as MEP for Yorkshire and Humber at the party’s high watermark in June 2009, must surely rank as foremost amongst their number. He unsuccessfully challenged for the BNP leadership earlier this year, losing to Griffin by a mere eight votes. Some within the party blamed those who had left to set up the British Freedom Party or to join the English Democrats for Griffin managing to maintain his grip on power, and a degree of bitterness amongst some party members with respect to those who left – particularly towards Eddy Butler and his endorsement of the English Democrats – has been evident on this score.

Following Brons’s defeat, Griffin’s mismanagement of the BNP has continued with the consequence that the party has remained split down the middle, with the Brons faction last month making moves to establish a “parallel party structure” within the BNP in the hope that should Griffin finally bankrupt the party and be compelled to relinquish the leadership, an effective replacement would be waiting in the wings. Unfortunately for those advocating this approach, there is no sign that Griffin has any intention of going anywhere, which means that the parallel party strategy could prove to be futile. It is thus likely that Brons’s realisation of this reality has prompted his decision – should the rumours prove to be true – to join the Democratic Nationalists, a small nationalist party registered by breakaway members of the BNP in March 2008. The primary motivating factor for its formation was dissatisfaction amongst many members at the failure of the BNP leadership to address their legitimate concerns regarding the absence of effective democratic procedures within the party, as articulated on the ‘Enough is Enough’ blog.

The Democratic Nationalists: a suitable Vehicle?
Dr James Lewthwaite is currently the most publicly well-known member of the Democratic Nationalists. Unlike Nick Griffin, Dr Lewthwaite can be counted as amongst those who place their political principles ahead of personal interests, and for this he has paid a heavy personal price insofar as his academic career was cut short by the University of Sheffield because of his involvement with the BNP. He now works as a security guard.

Since its foundation however, the Democratic Nationalists have not fired the public imagination, and have polled consistently poorly where they have stood. One of the reasons is the party’s near invisibility and the modest scale of its resources. It is currently reckoned to possess somewhere in the region of 50-75 members, with its strongest base being in Bradford where it has previously fielded candidates at ward elections. Its website is in desperate need of a revamp, both in terms of its presentation and content. Its sketchy outline of policy needs to be fleshed out and content needs to be regularly augmented by topical articles, for it can appear at first glance to be essentially a ‘dead’ site dating from the early days of the internet. Alternatively, should Brons join the party, it could make more sense for the BNP Ideas site to be rebranded as that of the Democratic Nationalists, for BNP Ideas is far easier upon the eye and features a regular stream of articles that are of superior quality to those posted on the shoddy official BNP site.

The question is: why would Brons wish to join the Democratic Nationalists, and why would the Democratic Nationalists wish to have Brons? If he did join, what role would he assume? As a sitting MEP capable of bringing a significant number of members to the Democratic Nationalists and of removing the cloak of invisibility which currently masks the micro-party, one would assume that he would be given a senior if not the most senior role in the party. If so, one could perhaps draw a parallel with the recent experience of the British Freedom Party, which after its launch in November 2010 experienced a fractious first year witnessing an early split followed by many months in the doldrums, until last month its founding Executive Council members stood down in favour of the Chairmanship of ex-UKIP member Paul Weston who is now seeking to relaunch the BFP as a ‘new’ party. Might not Brons attempt something similar? It would after all, be a quicker option than launching an entirely new party from scratch, and represent a far more rational approach than the current wait and see ‘parallel party structure’ one.

If Brons moves across to the Democratic Nationalists no time should be wasted in setting out the party’s ideology and vision which must be tempered by electoral pragmatism: the aim of party politics first and foremost should be winning elections backed with a solid popular mandate. This necessitates focusing on a few key issues of concern to the public, first and foremost of which should be economic policy based upon sound nationalist principles: anti-globalist, protectionist and technologically innovative. Few people voted for Blair in 1997 or in subsequent elections because they wanted mass immigration, multiculturalism and the imposition of the attendant ideology of ‘diversity’ backed by stiff legal measures, but this is what they got; they voted for him because they were convinced that Labour could handle the economy more effectively than the Tories. It is primarily upon the question of the economy that elections are won and lost, and true nationalists have better solutions to the current structural crisis in which we find ourselves than the globalist free marketeers. The British Freedom Party had hitherto adopted an unambiguous anti-globalist economic policy, but since Paul Weston assumed the helm, I have a sinking feeling that it is rapidly shifting in the direction of advocating Atlanticist Thatcherite economic policies, as suggested by the following recent comment that he made in an interview published on the Vlad Tepes blog: “UKIP I think are good, and we are essentially UKIP but we will talk about Islam.”

Winning Elections
Today, the key to winning elections lies in effective communications and finely honing and disseminating messages that resonate with the public. Nationalists possess many messages that the public would wish to hear, but for too long the voices of cranks have drowned these out and caused the public to stop up their ears and refuse to listen. The cranks who have held back nationalism in this country for so many years must not be permitted to wreck nationalism’s prospects in the years ahead. A serious nationalist party must have nothing to do with them.

Another trap that should be avoided is that of becoming fixated upon a single issue with which the party becomes irrevocably associated in the public mind, as in the cases of UKIP and EU withdrawal; the English Democrats and an English Parliament; the British Freedom Party and anti-Islamism. A successful nationalist party will address all of these concerns, but should not make any one of them the central plank of its electoral campaign, for should it do so, it will undoubtedly fail. Yes, do air these issues, but keep pushing the nationalist position on the economy over and over again to demonstrate that nationalism offers our people the prospect of a better future than any of the alternatives. The conditions are right for nationalism to make a breakthrough, the only real things holding it back being poor strategy and fragmentation between different nationalist factions.

If Brons decides to switch parties, this will have a serious impact upon the BNP which could easily lose half of its existing membership as a consequence. However, it is likely that a small rump BNP would continue under Nick Griffin's leadership as a zombie party, offering a refuge for the hard of thinking and those predisposed towards the cult of (a deeply flawed) personality. This would continue to be a hindrance to nationalist politics in the UK insofar as it would siphon off the votes of that proportion of the nationalistically inclined electorate that is unaware of the reality of the party.

One other question that naturally suggests itself should Brons join the Democratic Nationalists is: how will his employees Eddy Butler and Chris Beverley, both members of the English Democrats, react?

Regina v Secretary of State for the Home Department ex parte Michael James Burke Appeal judgment established self-defence was/is available at Common Law.

Self-defence is a natural right recognized at common law. Sir Michael Foster, judge of the Court of King’s Bench and Recorder of Bristol, wrote the following:
"The right of self-defence in these cases is founded in the law of nature, and is not, nor can be, superseded by any law of society. For before societies were formed, (one may conceive of such a state of things though it is difficult to fix the period when civil societies were formed,) I say before societies were formed for mutual defence and preservation, the right of self-defence resided in individuals; it could not reside elsewhere, and since in cases of necessity, individuals incorporated into society cannot resort for protection to the law of the society, that law with great propriety and strict justice considereth them, as still, in that instance, under the protection of the law of nature".
The right to have arms is not restricted to individual use for private self-defence, as the following Judgement demonstrates:
"The right of His majesties subjects to have arms for their own defence, and to use them for lawful purposes, (such as hunting) is most clear and undeniable. It seems, indeed, to be considered, by the ancient laws of the Kingdom, not only as a right, but as a duty... And that this right which every (subject) most unquestionably possesses individually may, and in many cases must, be exercised collectively, is likewise a point which I conceive to be most clearly established...

A person who has survived a criminal assault may make a civil claim for compensation. For example the victim of a rape who had been told by the police or Home Office that they were not entitled to arms for self defence would have grounds to claim damages against the individuals who were responsible for the breach of their legal duty to respect the rights of the subject. By Hogarth. Last Thursday’s by-election results at Feltham and Heston demonstrated that the BNP is continuing its death spiral under Nick Griffin and his “team”.”

This was not the result that Messrs Jefferson and Griffin desired. As the crucial membership renewals season begins, it was vital to produce a good showing at Feltham, if only to demonstrate “business as usual.”

In 2010 at Feltham, the BNP secured 1714 votes on 3.5%, far outpolling Ukip at 2% on 992 votes. The Greens secured 1.1% on 530 votes.

Last Thursday the BNP vote diminished to 540, that is, 2.33% with Ukip on 1276 votes, or 5.49%.

The full results were:

* Seema Malhotra, Labour – 12,639 (54.42%, +10.79%)

* Mark Bowen, Conservative – 6,436 (27.71%, -6.32%)

* Roger Crouch, Liberal Democrats – 1,364 (5.87%, -7.87%)

* Andrew Charalambous, UKIP – 1,276 (5.49%, +3.45%)

* David Furness, BNP – 540 (2.33%, -1.21%)

* Daniel Goldsmith, Green – 426 (1.83%, +0.74%)

* Roger Cooper, English Democrats – 322 (1.39%)

* George Hallam, London People Before Profit – 128 (0.55%)

* David Bishop, Bus-Pass Elvis Party – 93 (0.40%)

This outcome was a failure for UKIP, which had earlier spoken to its supporters of seizing 12% and beating the Lib Dems. It failed on both counts.

That UKIP secured 5.49% was in no small measure due to the support of the BBC, which accorded it equal interview coverage to that of the main three parties, even although it had been beaten by the BNP in 2010.

The BBC has traditionally supported UKIP as a means to counter support for the BNP and split the patriotic vote, with Farage a willing accomplice. Now that the BNP has nearly collapsed, this strategy is questionable although there may be some mileage in supporting UKIP so as weaken the Conservative vote, thus assisting Labour. Such a policy would certainly appeal to innate Labour sympathy within the BBC.

The result was also a complete and utter disaster for the English Democrats. Why should any voter support the EDP when they can vote for UKIP instead? The latter is far larger although both parties are civic nationalists and their spineless leaders are incapable of differentiating between those who are ethnically British and ethnically Somalian, say, albeit determined to be legally British by the issue of a passport document.

On the part of both leaders, there is a Orwellian psychology at play and one which blindly denies the truism that ‘distinctive cultures arise from distinctive peoples’ and the policies that arise from such a standpoint.

The poor showing by the EDP will ensure that its recent converts re-examine their ill-judged decision to join this party of cranks and weirdos.

UKIP invested generous resources into the campaign.

That, however, is no excuse for the dismal performance of the BNP. In previous years, despite prodigious expenditure by UKIP, the BNP could always comfortably outperform the former and on a shoestring budget. The by-elections at Henley and Sedgefield are good examples.

The BNP performed badly because it now lacks activists.

The London region has been decimated in recent years and the regions outside are almost entirely without any remaining branch network. Again, in previous years, activists from those regions would have descended upon Feltham in dozens and possibly hundreds.

Instead, the SE and Eastern Regions have been reduced to merely one or two to three active branches, each. The better elements within those branches have departed.

The party is also hard pressed to shake off its dismal image – one that centres upon the incompetent leader and the many nitwits and dregs with whom he surrounds himself. The old saying is brought to mind: ‘in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king’. Indeed!

Not least, the BNP is without a means to fund itself in anything other than periodic short bursts, and at a further cost to its creditors.

We do not need to remind readers that the party is in heavy debt of six figures, with numerous additional Court cases yet to take their toll. All membership subscriptions and funds raised are liable to satisfy large debts and the ongoing salaries of Griffin’s staff members.

Some branches and units appear to be wealthy on paper but the funds do not exist in reality; were a General Election to be called because of the failure of the coalition, the BNP would be unable to return such funds to its units – assuming they have not already collapsed.

Feltham was a by-election where, traditionally the party would have flourished, with voters seeking to protest at the demographic changes enforced upon their community.

The party had hoped to demonstrate ‘business as usual’ so as to justify the renewal of membership fees as the year end approaches. It failed and there will be many members who will simply follow their colleagues who have already departed, asking why they too should bother any more to support an incompetent at the helm and his henchmen and sycophants.

There are many more ex members outside the party than members in it. That explains why the leader was narrowly able to secure a victory during the leadership contest. Since then, the ongoing and worsening financial crisis has demonstrated the truth of the party’s dire situation – which has caused a further exodus and which was previously denied at official levels.

More damaging has been the departure of the party’s best talent. Its absence is causing further departures by members who are without examples at national, regional and local levels in whom they may vest their faith and confidence.

As ever, BNP Ideas remains steadfast. We have long predicted this situation and have long warned of the real plight of the party, which is being run down by the incompetent who leads it. These conditions will get far worse and, as always, the common denominator is the ‘one-eyed King’ who is the cause and who has reigned absolute.

Does he ever scrutinise his own actions, character and activities, we wonder? Probably not; his detractors are all Soros plants, special branch agents or Searchlight infiltrators!

Now I accept that the short notice of the last call for action prevented many people turning up to support this brave young woman - who was pushed beyond breaking point by the daily grind of having to live as a Stranger in a Strange Land in her own country, surrounded by alien faces and alien voices - but there is no excuse this time, unless you live just too far away to make it.
I do not want to read or hear that you will not attend because it is organised by Britain First or because A, B or C might be there. If you care about Justice, Freedom of Speech and truly feel for Emma West, then you will put your differences behind you for one lousy day. At the end of it you can return to your civil war and homes, Emma will still be in her lonely cell.

A PROPERTY tycoon and a City based financier quizzed by police over his links to the gunman who slaughtered 69 people in Norway are exposed today as key figures behind the rise of the far-right English Defence League (EDL).

A Sunday Times investigation has revealed that Ann Marchini, a mother from Highgate, north London, and Alan Ayling, a former director of an investment fund, have sought to mould the thuggish anti-Muslim group into a credible political force.

They are both linked to the murky world of the online "counter-jihad" movement from which Anders Behring Breivik drew ideological inspiration before committing his massacre in Norway in July. They have remained in the shadows until now by using aliases on the internet to mask their true identities.

Breivik repeatedly mentioned the EDL in his 1,600-page "manifesto" and once belonged to an Oslo-based offshoot called the Norwegian Defence League.

The EDL, whose support has mushroomed since it was formed in Luton in 2009, has organised a string of protests against what it perceives as the growing "Islamisation" of Britain.

Many have descended into violence perpetrated by a hard core of football hooligans.

However, the "brains" behind the group — which plans to field candidates at the next council elections — come from a different background.

Marchini, who is thought to be in her fifties, runs a buyto-let property empire from her £1.6m mock-Tudor home in Highgate, a leafy suburb usually associated with liberals. Marchini, who is believed to be divorced from an Italian banker, operates under at least two aliases: "Gaia", the Earth goddess from Greek mythology, and "Dominique Devaux".

She is said to have helped organise a "pivotal" meeting between EDL figures and antijihad thinkers in July 2009 and recently attended a discussion where the EDL agreed to consider an electoral pact with the ~~right-wing~~ (Zionist. Ed) British Freedom party (BFP).

A report by Gaia on the BFP website states that Stephen Lennon, the EDL leader, "explained that the EDL need to move up a notch — they cannot go on forever staging street demos. They are still widely perceived as a rabble, and as such cannot possibly obtain funding or be taken seriously by the political class".

Marchini was photographed alongside Lennon, 28, at a farright demonstration this year and the image was posted on the website of Hope Not Hate, an anti-fascist group. Her name and address also appeared on a leaked list of EDL donors.

The 2009 EDL meeting took place at the £500,000 flat of Ayling in the Barbican in central London. Lennon attended with two relatives from Luton.

Paul Ray, who claims to be a founder of the EDL, was also there. He says he travelled to the venue from Highgate with Marchini, whom he knew at the time as "Ann", "Gaia" or "Dominique". He says he had previously stayed for "a few months" at one of her rental flats on British Street in Bow, east London.

Ray regards the Barbican meeting as "pivotal". "It was the key people being brought together," he said. "It was bringing together the ideological and political side with the boots on the ground."

Two days after the meeting, Ray received an email from "Dominique Devaux", using the account "gaia2600@hotmail.com". "Still very interested in helping EDF [sic] grow as a movement," it stated. It was signed off by "Ann".

Another email, seen by The Sunday Times, gives a mobile number used by Marchini for letting her properties.

Ayling, 57, has been operating under the alias "Alan Lake". He is an IT expert and was a director of Pacific Capital Investment Management until January this year. The fund was dissolved in August.

Last month Ayling was interviewed by officers from Scotland Yard at the behest of Norwegian police who were investigating whether he was a possible "mentor" of Breivik.

Paal-Fredrik Kraby, an Oslo police prosecutor, confirmed that "the man known as Alan Lake" had been questioned. "But his real name is not for us to give to the press," he said.

In an interview with a Norwegian newspaper nine days ago, Lake denied having any contact with Breivik. However, he admitted to having met a prolific anti-Islam blogger called "Fjordman". "People ought to read him, he is good," Lake said. Breivik named Fjordman 111 times in his manifesto.

In the same interview, Lake said Breivik was "wrong", but added the following about Norway's immigration policies: "You let in dangerous people who do not share your values, who will destroy your society and take your freedom. You will have to pay the price for that."

When shown a photograph of Lake last week, two separate sources at the Barbican confirmed that the man in the picture was Ayling. A man inside his flat denied he was Ayling when contacted over the intercom and refused to step outside. Ayling did not respond to a written list of questions.

Norwegian police say Lake was interviewed in London as a "witness". They have also spoken at length to Ray, 35, who voluntarily flew to Oslo to try to clear his name after speculation that he could have unwittingly inspired Breivik.

The Norwegian gunman, 32, who has been declared insane by psychiatrists, claimed in his manifesto that he once had an English mentor called "Richard (the Lionhearted)". Ray, a bornagain Christian who subsequently fell out with the EDL, runs a blog called Lionheart.

When The Sunday Times first approached Marchini about her EDL links on November 30, she slammed the door shut on a reporter. Last week, she and her son, Paolo, hung up at least three times when contacted by telephone.

On Friday, a lawyer for Marchini said: "Ann Marchini does not operate under the alias of either Dominique Devaux or Gaia. She is a member of British Freedom, but joined only to show support for her personal friend Paul Weston [the chairman]."

Two names on Dominique Devaux's list of Facebook friends — Paolo and Bianca Marchini — disappeared on the same day.

Weston, a former UK Independence party candidate, said he could not recall befriending Devaux on Facebook.He described Breivik as "a psychopathic lunatic".

Lennon admitted knowing Marchini under the Devaux alias, but denied she was influential.He said Lake was a "nutjob" and had not been involved with the EDL "for ages". Lennon, a former member of the British National party, denied the EDL was racist and said Breivik was "a monster"."

He already has a huge global readership and his offices are frequently the target of violent Jewish demonstrations, but he refuses to be intimidated.

I draw attention to his output now because he took up an on-line correspondence with one of the ‘house’ publications of the USA’s Establishment: The Wall Street Journal, on the topic of “the Holocaust”. Somehow he was allowed to present 29 of his “problems” with the ‘official’ — and in some places criminal law enforced — Jewish account of the ‘Holocaust’.

Perhaps he was able to get away with having such a devastating critique published in the WSJ because of the indisputable veracity of his facts — expressed in a very accessible style which is moderate and unprovocative. Perhaps the editor was on holiday — or drunk — or his staff have joined the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ group. Whatever......

These 29 “problems”, expressed in single paragraphs, sometimes in single sentences, constitute a compelling explanation for the Everyman (and Everywoman) as to why perfectly sane, sensible and well-educated people around the globe are increasingly being drawn to a sceptical view of the Jewish account the ‘Holocaust’.

It also provides a realisation of how Jewry exploits the quasi-religion of ‘Holocaustianity’ to put themselves as individuals and as a group above national and international law and to be deserving of deferential privileged treatment in all their dealings with the rest of humanity — who must at all times adopt a genuflective mental attitude.

Mr. Santimauro’s document deserves the widest circulation.

Some people may be offended by those who play down Jewish death and suffering during World War II. But free and open societies protect even offensive speech. That’s why western countries defend the right of their citizens, for example, to praise Communism or promote atheism.

“Holocaust denial” laws violate ancient and universal standards of justice. They criminalize even factual or truthful statements that “play down” or “whitewash” the Holocaust. Far more insidious than the "Holocaust Denial" laws is the legal concept of "fighting words" we have in the US. What makes it worse is that we have allowed each group to define not only what these words are, but also their "acceptable" reaction to them. If I wrote a (ficticious) book entitled "200 Years of Slavery in America....Good or Evil" I would be faced with not only the threat of physical attack, but also being put on trial myself should this attack take place. All this while the attackers were cheered on by a sympathetic media. Count yourself fortunate that the main group that would have a grievance with your book, by and large, accepts your right to an opinion.

My second point is about the motives of the vast majority of Holocaust deniers. If they can de legitimize the Holocaust in any way; say, knock a few hundred thousand off the quoted six million figure, this will somehow cast aspersion on EVERY documented piece of evidence and codify their worldview. Take a contemporary example: Claims that Israel targeted Palestinian ambulances during Operation Cast Lead. Despite all visual evidence that the perfectly round holes in the tops of more than one ambulance could not have been made by a shell and the internal damages (if any) were not consistent with an artillery round, but were the size and shape of the missing dome lights, an Australian newspaper could not see fit to issue a meaculpa....this might somehow legitimize Israeli claims. No, they had to spend their money to visit the scene (actually, a junkyard) and hire experts to come up with theories that would make even the most prolific of American "ambulance chasers" (no pun intended) cringe. Needless to say, the issue was quietly dropped.

I don't know you, nor have I read your book. I just find it curious that Holocaust deniers (shall we say "skeptics") will ply their trade as "legitimate discussion", irrespective of the mountains of evidence recorded by the perpetrators who thought the world would thank them. Contrast this with the fictitious work above where there is not even a tiny fraction of the amount of written or photographic evidence. Not to mention no living eyewitnesses. Yet, nobody ever calls slavery into question.

Listed below are some of the "problems " I have with the Holocaust. Should these be cleared up it would go a long way toward my accepting it - they are in no particular order.

1) Why did Elie Wiesel and countless other Jews survive the Holocaust if it was the intention of the Third Reich to eliminate every Jew they got there hands on? Elie was a prisoner for several years; other Jews survived even longer. Most of these "survivors" were ordinary people who did not have any unique expertise that the Germans could have exploited for their war effort. There was no logical reason for them to be kept alive. The very existence of more than a million survivors even today, some sixty years later, contradicts one of the basic components of the holocaust i.e. that the Germans had a policy to eliminate every Jew they got their hands on.

2) Why is there no mention of the Holocaust in Churchill's six volume History of the Second World War or the wartime memoirs of either De Gaulle or Eisenhower or any of the other lesser luminaries who wrote about the Second World War. Keep in mind all these were written years after the war ended and thus after the holocaust had been allegedly proven by the Nuremberg Trials? With regard to the Holocaust, the silence of these "cognoscenti" is deafening!

3) What was an inmate infirmary (and a brothel) doing in Auschwitz if in fact it was a death camp?

4) Why would the Germans round up Jews from their far flung empire, thereby tying up large numbers of personnel and rolling stock, while fighting a world war on two fronts to deliver people to "death camps" hundreds of miles away who were then executed upon arrival - wouldn't a bullet on the spot have appealed to legendary German sense of efficiency?

5) Why after sixty years have historians been unable to come up with a single German document that points to a holocaust? Should we believe the likes of Raul Hilberg that in the place of written orders there was an "incredible meeting of the minds" by the literally tens of thousands of people who would have had to coordinate their actions in order to carry out an undertaking of this magnitude?

6) How come it is still insisted upon that six million Jews were killed when the official Jewish death toll at Auschwitz, the flagship of the Holocaust gulag, has been reduced from an immediate post war figure of 3 million, to a figure of somewhat less than one million? Why do many respond to this observation by saying, "what's the difference whether it's six million or one million?". The answer is that the difference is five million. Another difference is that saying so can get you three years in an Austrian jail...just ask David Irving!

7) All of Germany's wartime codes were compromised including the one used to send daily reports from Auschwitz to Berlin. The transcripts of these messages make no mention of mass executions or even remotely suggest a genocidal program in progress. Furthermore it has been insisted that the Germans used a kind of euphemistic code when discussing their extermination program of the Jews e.g. final solution, special treatment, resettlement, etc. Why was it necessary for them to use such coded euphemisms when talking to one another unless they thought their codes had been cracked by the Allies?

8) The water table at Auschwitz lies a mere 18 inches below the surface which makes claims of huge burning pits for the disposal of tens of thousands of victims untenable.

9) Initially claims were made that mass executions in homicidal gas chambers had taken place in camps located within the boundaries of the old Reich e.g. Dachau, Bergen-Belsen. "Evidence" to that effect was every bit as compelling as what was offered for other camps, located in occupied Poland, yet without explanation in the early sixties we were told that this was not the case and that all the "death camps" were located in the East i.e. Poland outside (some would say conveniently) of the probing eyes of western scholars.

10) No one has been able to reconcile the eyewitness accounts that personnel entered the gas chambers after twenty minutes without any protective gear and the fact that Zyclon B was a "time release" fumigant that would have had a lethal capability for at least another twenty-four hours. And that even after twenty-four hours the corpses would have themselves remained sufficiently contaminated by the hydrogen cyanide gas that they would have had the capacity to kill anyone who touched them who were not wearing protective gear.

11) Why do we no longer hear claims that the Germans manufactured soap, lampshades and riding britches from the bodies of dead Jews - could it be that in the light of modern forensics and DNA knowledge these claims are totally untenable?

12) Why do we no longer hear claims that huge numbers of Jews were exterminated in massive steam chambers or electrocuted on special grids - "evidence" of this was presented at Nuremberg - evidence that sent men to the gallows?

14) Elie Wiesel has been described as "the Apostle of Remembrance" yet in his memoir, "Night" which deals his stay at Auschwitz he makes no mention of the now infamous homicidal gas chambers. Isn't this a bit like one of the Gospels making no mention of the Cross?

15) Virtually every survivor who was examined at Auschwitz says that he or she was examined by the infamous Dr. Mengele.

16) According to survivor testimony, hundreds of thousands of Jews were executed at Treblinka and then buried in mass graves in the surrounding area. Why is it that extensive sonar probing of these burial grounds reveals that this alleged final resting place for Holocaust victims has remained undisturbed since at least the last ice age?

17) "Proof" of the Holocaust rest primarily on survivor testimony; there is little, if any, hard evidence. The best of this has been described by Jean Claude Pressac as merely "criminal traces". Even Judge Grey who presided at the Irving-Lipstadt Trial commented that he was surprised the evidence pointing to the Holocaust was "extremely thin". To paraphrase Arthur Butz, "a crime of this magnitude would have left a mountain of evidence" - where is it? There was more hard evidence against OJ Simpson at his trial and he was found INNOCENT!

18) Why has Holocaust Revisionism been criminalized in at least eleven countries - what other historic truth needs the threat of prison or the destruction of one's career to maintain itself. Should someone be sent to prison for expressing skepticism about the official Chinese claim that they suffered thirty-five million dead in World War II.

19) Why do the court historians insist that "denying the Holocaust" is like denying slavery or saying the earth is flat when it is nothing of the sort. The leading Revisionists are first rate scholars who hold advanced degrees from the world's leading universities. Is there anyone comparable among those who say the world is flat or that slavery never existed?

20) Promoters of the Holocaust have expressed concerns about the remembering the Holocaust once the last survivors die. Why haven't Civil War historians expressed similar concerns since the last survivor of that conflict died in 1959.

21) Survivors of the holocaust have testified that smoke billowed from the crematoriums as they consumed the bodies of murdered victims - some eyewitnesses even claimed they could detect national origins by the color of the smoke. How can this be reconciled with the fact that properly operating crematoriums do not produce smoke of any color?

22) According to the official version of the Holocaust hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews were rounded up in mid 1944 and sent to Auschwitz where most were gassed immediately upon arrival and their bodies were disposed of by burning in huge open air pits using railroad ties and gasoline. Why is that there is no evidence of these huge funerary pyres in the high resolution surveillance photos taken by Allied aircraft who were over flying the camp on a daily basis during this time period. Furthermore, why have no remains been found, since open pit burning, even when gasoline is used, generates insufficient heat to totally consume a body?

23) All of the liberated camps were littered with corpses; is there a single autopsy report or any other forensic evidence that shows that even a single one of these deaths was a consequence of poison gas?

24) The death toll for the Holocaust relies exclusively on population statistics provided by Jewish sources; has any independent demographic study been produced that shows that approximately six million Jews were "missing" at the end of the war?

25) Why do the wartime inspection reports of camps made by the International Red Cross contain no references to mass executions - it strains credulity that such monumental crimes could be hidden. The only explanations are that either these crimes were not occurring or that the Red Cross was complicit in a cover-up.

26) Why has there been no effort to respond to the Leuchter Report?

TV presenter Matthew Wright has apologised for comments he made about the murder of a teenager on a remote Scottish island.
It is the first murder in the area for 43 years.

Mr Wright made the comments yesterday about the death of 16-year-old Liam Aitchison in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.

During a newspaper review segment on The Wright Stuff programme, the presenter put on a Scottish accent and said "there's been another murder", copying a phrase from TV detective show Taggart.
Panel member Charlie Baker described the investigation as "the longest-ever episode of Taggart".
On today's show on Channel 5, Mr Wright said it had not been his intention to "belittle" the teenager's death.
He said: "I know that some of you have been upset by some comments made during yesterday's newspaper review about the murder of Liam Aitchison in Stornoway and I would like to apologise if that was the case.
"Certainly, no intention on my part to belittle the seriousness or the tragedy of this story, or to offend anyone who knew Liam.
"You know me, I have been touched by death too many times to belittle anything like that."
Angus MacNeil, SNP MP for the Western Isles, said he had raised a complaint with Ofcom, along with many of his constituents.
He said: "This is a very sad time for the family of Liam Aitchison, and his murder has stunned the local community.
"To see Matthew Wright making jokes about the tragedy and behaving as he did is beyond belief, and has disgusted everyone who has seen the programme."
Local council leader Angus Campbell said: "The council and the local community find it offensive that people on a TV show joke about a young boy's death.
"Our thoughts remain with Liam's family and friends who are suffering during this very difficult time.
"His tragic death should not be a subject for jokes, and we will be raising the matter with Channel 5 and Ofcom as a matter of urgency."
A group called Report The Wright Stuff To Ofcom has been set up on Facebook, with almost 1,000 people "liking" the page.
Mr Wright said on the programme that those campaigning for people to complain to TV watchdog Ofcom should "grow up".
Ofcom confirmed that complaints had been made about the edition of the show and it was assessing them before it decided whether to investigate.
The regulator said it could not provide the number of complaints it had received about Mr Wright's comments.
The Wright Stuff shows from yesterday and today are unavailable to view on Channel 5's Demand service.
The body of Mr Aitchison was discovered in a derelict building in the Steinish area of Stornoway last Tuesday.
Northern Constabulary said they were treating the death as murder following a post-mortem test.
The teenager was missing for a week when his body was discovered.

The group are planning to start a defence fund to show their support for the 34-year-old mother from New Addington.

The nationalists have apparently discovered the prison in which she is being held at and have asked guards how they can send her letters of support.

One said after donations were suggested: “Great work - let's get a fund underway ASAP. Emma West NEEDS to know that she has a truckload of supporters and she needs moral support and financial help.”

Another poster continues: “Given what this woman's done and is going through, if we don't rally behind her and support her....then stormfront might as well shut down because this is literally opportunity of a lifetime...we can't afford to let it pass by...

“Myself, I'm gonna send her a letter and $20....it's all I can afford...if we all do the same...even $5... she'll have smiles a'plenty after leaving that Orwellian hellhole of a prison....”

Emma West is due to appear in court on Jan 3 to arrange a date for her Crown court appearance. She was arrested on Nov 29 for a racially aggravated public order offence.

The news that English mum of two, Miss Emma West, has been remanded in custody over the Christmas period has shocked even the most hardened patriot.
Two small innocent British children are now deprived of their mother’s love and warm embrace at this special time of year. Why? Because the political/judicial PC fanatics have decided to make an example of an English lady who had finally reached breaking point and used some choice language towards a tram full of ‘enrichers’.
Emma comes from Croydon, a place which was virtually razed to the ground this year by ethnic gangs who rampaged for three days, indulging in an orgy of burning looting and violence, leaving many decent people without homes, jobs and businesses. Most of those apprehended were bailed.
But a young English mother who did nothing more than vent her frustrations has been refused bail not once but twice and will spend Christmas behind bars separated from her small children!
Britain First is asking you personally to do something about this gross injustice.
Imagine if you, or your daughter, were in Emma’s position. Really, sit for ten seconds and think how YOU would cope with being flung in prison over Christmas and YOUR children being taken from you by social services.

How to Argue with the Ruling Class

One of the ways in which a ruling class keeps control is its insistence on rules of debate that place opposition at a regular disadvantage. I cannot think of any time or place where opposition voices have been listened to on fully equal terms. In modern England, however, the ruling class and its various clients and useful idiots are particularly rigid in their shepherding of debate. This is so not only because England is an increasingly totalitarian place, but also because the main legitimation ideologies are all obviously false and cannot be exposed to open criticism. Therefore, while speech mostly remains free in the legal sense, it will only be listened to when expressed in terms that privilege the ruling class.

Some of the rules of debate in England are linguistic. For example, if you refer to someone as a homosexual, you will be told that he is gay. Or you will be told that the Indian cities of Bombay and Calcutta must be called “Mumbai” and “Kokata;” or that the native population of England must be called the “white majority;” or an immigrant a “migrant,” or a failed suicide a “self-harmer,” or a mongol a Downs syndrome sufferer. If you persist in using the now disapproved words, you may be dismissed as ignorant: you may be denounced as some kind of bigot. Sometimes, the words keep changing, or different words must be used depending on the audience – therefore, Ethiopian became person of colour, and then negro, and then Negro, and then coloured, and then black, and then Afro-Caribbean, and may still be any of these except possibly the third. In many cases, names are changed merely when something pejorative is replaced by something neutral – obviously so in the instance just given. More often, though, the changes are made to humble those outside the naming elite. Whoever must follow the other side’s naming conventions loses any claim to equality of status, and will at least tend to lose any debate. This is so when the shift of name is mostly verbal – for example coloured to black. But it is specially so when the shift involves an acceptance of new facts. See again the shift from “native English” to “white majority.” The former implies that a particular territory is historically the possession of a self-defined group, and suggests that this group has a right to continue in possession. The latter simply implies that one group among many has what may be a passing numerical weight. Equally, “migration” is so much softer and less threatening than “immigration.” Quibbling over words may sound petty. But to control the words usable in debate really is to have a very great if subtle advantage in debate.

A similar advantage is had by taking real or pretended offence, and calling on an opponent to apologise. When those crying out in horror have numbers or the power of government on their side, they can avoid the danger of arguing with an opponent by smashing his reputation. People are led to believe that he is a bad person. Often the person himself can be brought to agree. We saw how this can work last week. Speaking on a BBC programme that lies on the border between news and light entertainment, Jeremy Clarkson said that strikers in the public sector should be shot. No one but a fool could believe he intended this as other than a joke. But it raised a storm of synthetic outrage. The BBC gave in at once and apologised for any offence caused. Mr Clarkson may or may not have apologised, but certainly did not stand his ground. His enemies are now circulating rumoursthat his mind is unbalanced, and the credibility of a prominent non-conformist may have been destroyed.

Or there are demands for “historic apologies.” The Celtic peoples are rather good at this. So are the Indians. Peter Tatchellmade an effort last month to get the Prime Minister to apologise for the criminalisation of homosexual acts throughout the British Empire. He failed. But demanding apologies for alleged ill-treatment in the past is a good way to advance present interests. It smooths the way to actual financial or legal advantages. Or – as with the Irish – it just wins battles in a long-term vendetta.

Or there is the hiding of rights violations behind the grief of victims. Last week, for example, I put out my annual call for the repeal of the laws against drinking and driving. My argument is that the dangers of drinking and driving are much exaggerated – the published statistics are puffed up by including cases where drunken pedestrians or cyclists have got themselves knocked down. The present law is only enforced by stopping drivers at random and breathalysing them. This is a breach of the old common law rule against interference with individuals except with probable cause. Most of the people stopped do not test positive. Most of those who do test positive were not driving erratically. Enforcement also takes the police away from their – admittedly casual – protection of life and property. It would be better, I say, to punish drivers who are caught driving without proper care and attention, or who have hurt others, and to make sure that the punishments are harsh enough to deter.

I may be wrong about this. Perhaps the current law is the only way to keep the roads as safe as they are. Whatever the case, I nearly always find myself going on the wireless to debate with the grieving relatives of people killed by drunken drivers. Many years ago, I gave a blunt response to one of these people – that, while private grief must always be respected, it has no claim to respect when dragged into debates over law or policy of state. This sent everyone else in the studio into a self-righteous frenzy, and got my microphone turned off. My favourite response is to sympathise, and to show that, if I were given my way, the guilty driver would have been locked away for life, or even hanged. Usually, this gives me the advantage of surprise. Even so, I still have to ask for the moral endorsement of someone who is arguing for a police state.

And this brings me to what I really want to discuss – which is the demand for argument by supplication. Last week, Emma West was filmed swearing at a tram filled with black people. She was immediately punished by having her life destroyed. For those who, for whatever reason, have not heard about her, this brief statement of mine gives the main story:

Miss West has now been arrested for her opinions and locked away, and her children have been taken away by the social services.
Of course, if she had been wearing a headscarf and screeching about the "kuffar" who were killing her brothers and sisters in Iraq/Afghanistan, the authorities would have looked the other way.
For a woman to have her children taken away because she expressed opinions disliked by the ruling class means we have come as close as doesn't matter to a totalitarian police state. I note that this has happened under a "Conservative" Government. Where are all those "Tory" MPs who like to preen themselves on how libertarian they are? Don't ask.
My view is that every single politician and official involved in this arrest of a dissident and legalised kidnapping of her children should be punished after the collapse of the present regime – not only sacked and deprived of pension rights (because they all will be in the disestablishment of the ruling class), but also made jointly and severally liable for compensating Miss West and her children for whatever they may have suffered.

I have quoted this in full not only because it gives the main facts of the case, but also because it brought a response that I was hoping to provoke someone into making. It came last Friday:

Now, the writer of this is not a member of the ruling class. He may or may not be one of its clients. But he certainly comes into the category of useful idiot. Leave aside his assumption that a society can hold together by any other means than voluntary association or compulsion by the State – what interests me is his outrage that I did not join to my defence of Miss West’s rights a denunciation of what she said. Increasingly, you are only allowed to defend those persecuted by the ruling class by abasing yourself before the ruling class. Somewhere in what I said, I should have added a variant on the following:

I bow to no one in my utter revulsion of what this evil young guttersnipe said. Being myself a transgendered black lesbian, I have had more than my share of hate-filled bigotry. And I celebrate the immense patience shown by those poor abused people. That no one was driven to violence against West is proof of how strong our diverse and multicultural society has become. All this being said, it is only out of an old-fashioned, and therefore possibly misguided, liberalism that I beg for her not to suffer the full consequences of her totally abhorrent crime against humanity.

Well, I knew that I was expected to come out with this kind of dirt-kissing exercise, and I refused to comply. I refused, because it is inhuman to spit on someone who has already been brought down. I refused because a defence of someone’s rights is often compromised by adverse comment on what he has done. The paraphrase on Voltaire – “I disagree with what you say, but would defend to the death your right to say it” – is all very well when arguing with someone on the other side of a dinner table. My own view, when someone is lying on the ground, is to skip the disagreement.

This has always been my practice. In 1991, I wrote the first and one of the best defences of the “Spanner 15”– that is, of the homosexual men who were tried and punished for consensual acts in private: one of them was convicted of “aiding and abetting an assault on himself!” Not once in any of the essays I wrote or the speeches I made did I insist that I was not myself a leather-worshipping sado-masochistic homosexual, or that I would not like someone to drive a four inch nail through my penis. I got some very funny looks for this omission. But I refused then to distance myself from powerless and ruined victims of injustice – and I refuse now.

I also refuse because what is demanded of me is an endorsement of a legitimising ideology. Here – and for the sake of clarity alone – I will explain what I think of Miss West’s actions. She was vulgar in her speech and uncharitable in her sentiments. But I do not for a moment think that, except for her and people like her, what has been made of my country would be a vibrant love feast without end. While modern commerce and modern technology almost cry out for some mixing of peoples, state-sponsored mass-immigration has been made an excuse to destroy the internal cohesion of my people and to free my rulers from practical accountability. That a quarter of this country’s population may now be strangers, who have been encouraged neither to adopt nor even to respect our ways, is a problem to which I can think of no satisfactory answer. But I refuse, when speaking out against their growing intolerance of disagreement, to bow my head to the people who rule this country. They are not good people led astray by bad ideas. They do not occupy any moral high ground. Until such time as they grow more tyrannical than they have yet become, I will avoid arguing with them on their terms. What they have done to us is evil in itself, and, because it is highly unstable, it will almost certainly lead to greater evils. The least bad outcome will be a swift collapse of the regime they have created, and their punishment with some regard given to due process. And they deserve no less. They are in a position to know exactly what they are doing. If they have chosen not to make the obvious connections of cause and effect, their ignorance is culpable.

Because, more than is usually the case, it is founded on lies and violence, the present regime must eventually collapse. I have no inclination to join some future equivalent of storming the Bastille. Something I can do, though, is to look these people in the face, and refuse to observe their rules of debate. The purpose of these rules is to restrain a debate that would otherwise turn dangerous. No revolution has ever succeeded except after there had been a withdrawal of consent. Let this be withdrawn, and the secret of all power is laid bare – that we are many and they are few. There is little else I will do. But, however small it may be in the overall scheme of things, this much i have done already.
